Tottenham suffer another blow as injury list grows ahead of Liverpool clash

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho faces a number of injury problems heading into this weekend's Premier League clash with Liverpool and has been handed another blow.

The North London side confirmed on Tuesday that midfielder Moussa Sissoko has undergone an operation on an injury to his right knee, putting him out of action for the next three months.

Spurs , who have picked up just one point from their recent matches against Norwich City and Southampton, were already without a number of key players for an extended period of time.

Hugo Lloris has been out of action since suffering a dislocated elbow against Brighton in October and is not expected to return until February at the earliest, with Paulo Gazzaniga playing in his place.

Defenders Ben Davies and Danny Rose are also not expected to return to action until later this month but the biggest absence is in their forward ranks.

Harry Kane was withdrawn against Southampton on New Year's Day with a hamstring injury and will be sidelined for at least a month, with Mourinho suggesting the issue 'is not a small one'.

Tanguy Ndombele, signed from Lyon in the summer, could make his return from injury for the visit of Liverpool but, given his recent struggles, is unlikely to start for Mourinho's side.
