Tottenham striker transfer latest as club receive Patson Daka update and explore new targets

Patson Daka appears on course to remain with RB Salzburg this summer amid talk of a Premier League move.

Moving to the Austrian side in 2017 from Kafue Celtic in his homeland of Zambia, the 21-year-old has come to the attention of a number of clubs following his standout performances for Die Mozartstadter.

After registering seven goals in his first two seasons at the club, Daka hit 27 in 45 games last term, including one in the Champions League against Belgian side Genk.

With Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all linked with a move for the talented forward, Tottenham have also been closely monitoring the youngster as they look to strengthen upfront.

Tottenham transfer window verdict so far

However, football.london understands that Daka wants to stay in Austria for now to continue his development despite plenty of Premier League clubs looking at him.

The Zambian international is actually represented by former Spurs striker Frederic Kanoute after the ex-Premier League player spotted Daka playing at a youth tournament for his country.

It means the Lilywhites' interest in the highly-rated star will have to be shelved for this window at least and they will now have to turn their attention to another striker.

Spurs desperately need to bring in a frontman to help provide cover for Harry Kane and the club are now looking at other targets.

Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik and Metz forward Habib Diallo have both been mentioned regarding a move to N17 and Spurs have until Monday, October 5 to bring in a new challenger for the England captain.

Milik is a player the club are interested in but the kind of money the Serie A side are demanding for the Polish international and his wage demands could prove to be a bit of a stumbling block given he will be playing second fiddle to Kane.

The 26-year-old did net 14 times in 35 games for Napoli last season and he does fit the profile Jose Mourinho is after in a striker as he is tall, powerful and can hold the ball up well.
