Tottenham striker Dane Scarlett hails ‘amazing’ Harry Kane and Heung-min Son chance after signing new contract

Tottenham youngster Dane Scarlett has hailed the impact of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son after signing a new long-term contract at the club.

Scarlett has long been rated as one of the club’s brightest academy prospects in years and on Wednesday it was announced that the 18-year-old has agreed a new deal which runs until 2026.

Spurs are expected to explore the possibility of a loan move for the England youth international next season, but until now he has been benefitting from the chance to work with the likes of Kane and Son, who scored 40 Premier League goals between them this term.

“They’re amazing,” Scarlett told the Tottenham website. “Both of them. You can see the link they have on the pitch and that stems from training.

“They’re both very top and good people to be around and it’s amazing that I have the opportunity to work with these kind of names and people.”

Scarlett also saluted the influence of Spurs boss Antonio Conte, who took over from the sacked Nuno Espirito Santo midway through the season and resurrected what seemed a doomed campaign to secure Champions League qualification with a top-four finish.

“He’s very good,” Scarlett added. “The sessions are very beneficial for the attacking players and it’s good to be around that early and understand the way he plays.

“The opportunities keep coming and I keep taking them but I’m just proud and I focus on my football really.”
