Tottenham star Son Heung-min praised amid Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah comparison

The 2022/23 season is quickly approaching and teams are trying to strengthen their squads, ahead of a busy campaign. Tottenham, Liverpool and Man City have all made a number of signings this season, with Richarlison, Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland making moves to the three clubs respectively.

Antonio Conte led his side to a fourth place finish last season, with Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur signing in January. Tottenham have continued strengthening the Italian's squad with their four new arrivals already this summer.

There are more deals likely to be secured as the transfer window continues, with Spurs being linked with players across the world. However the 52-year-old will also be looking to ensure his current squad are as strong as possible, in the lead up to what is going to be a busy season.

Tottenham's front trio created a dangerous attacking line for Premier League opposition during the 2021/22 campaign. Between Harry Kane, Kulusevski and Son Heung-min, there were nearly 70 goal contributions made, with all three assisting one another and slotting the ball into the back of the net themselves.

The South Korean had an incredible season, securing his first Golden Boot award, which he shared with Mohamed Salah. What made Son's achievement so great was that none of the 23 goals he scored were from penalties, whereas Salah scored a handful from the spot.

Kane will be hoping to compete with his teammate and the Egyptian for the Golden Boot award next season and so will Man City's new arrival, Haaland. The 21-year-old scored 20 goals and registered five assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances in the last campaign.

The Norwegian is now making the move to England and will be hoping to make an instant impact at his new club. Former Tottenham man Louis Saha spoke to BonusCodeBets and gave his verdict on who he thinks will win the Golden Boot next season.

"Harry Kane and Heung-min Son are contenders for the Golden Boot, but Erling Haaland is the perfect fit for Man City. Haaland is going to score headers, tap-ins and physical goals because Man City are masters in providing the ball to their forwards. So I can’t see any other top scorer than Haaland next season," Saha admitted.

However Son did get his praise when Puma and Soccer Aid teamed up on the UMM YouTube channel and asked a range of celebrities to rank Son, Salah and Haaland. David Seaman and David James gave their verdict, with the former putting the Tottenham man last and the Egyptian first.

"Mo Salah has repeatedly done it and done it and done it. Son this season has been incredible and Haaland is still a young pup, with tremendous potential," James said. However some reservations for Haaland are understandable, as no one knows how quickly or how well the 21-year-old will be able to adapt to the Premier League.

Brazilian legends Cafu and Roberto Carlos were asked the same question and both put Salah first, but Son in second, over Haaland. The South Korean doesn't always get the recognition he deserves and often goes under the radar.

However he highlighted even more last season why he is a top player and a crucial part of Conte's team. With Tottenham's new arrivals and even more work with the 52-year-old, who knows how good Son could really be.
