Tottenham star explains how Liverpool helped Spurs in Champions League win against Manchester City

Tottenham star Moussa Sissoko has explained how watching clips of Liverpool helped Spurs beat Manchester City.

The 29-year-old midfielder was one of the standout players as his side ran out 1-0 winners on Tuesday.

The former Newcastle player admitted Mauricio Pochettino showed his players footage of the Reds' Champions League double over Pep Guardiola's men from last season.

Sissoko, speaking after the famous win, said: "The gaffer showed us some videos of different teams against them.

"We did things well and followed our game plan, which was to defend well and not throw ourselves forwards too much.

Sissoko added: "We played with a lot of intensity, because they don't like it much when you tickle their ankles a bit."

The Londoners will travel to the Etihad next week to try and repeat Tuesday's heroics and earn themselves a place in the last-four.
