Tottenham star Heung-min Son wins Premier League goal of the season after BBC fan vote

Tottenham forward Heung-min Son's stunning solo effort against Burnley has been voted the goal of the season to date in a BBC fan vote.

The South Korean picked up the ball just outside his area, then covering 70 meters in 12 seconds and 12 touches, beating multiple men on the way before slotting home beyond a helpless Nick Pope in a 5-0 win against Burnley.

Of the goal, Gary Lineker, who scored 67 goals during his time with Tottenham, said: "Wow. Son has just scored one of the greatest individual goals you’re ever likely to see. Goal of the season, me thinks."

And Liniker was right. BBC Sport provided a shortlist made up of the winners from each month's Match of the Day goal of the month competition.

Son secured 28 per cent of the votes to top the list; Mohamed Salah came in second with 23 per cent of the votes for his tidy finish against Newcastle after a delightful Roberto Firmino flick.

In third was Kevin De Bruyne's exquisite volley from outside of the box against Newcastle, which claimed 18 per cent of the votes.
