Tottenham star Dele Alli out until March with hamstring strain

Tottenham have confirmed that Dele Alli faces more than a month out after suffering a hamstring strain in Sunday’s win over Fulham.

Spurs say the England international, who was forced off prior to Harry Winks’ last minute winner at Craven Cottage will not return to training until early March.

It is the latest blow for Mauricio Pochettino, who is already without star striker Harry Kane until March because of an ankle injury, and has Son Heung-Min away on international duty with South Korea.

Alli’s injury deepens Spurs’ midfield injury crisis, with Moussa Sissoko and Victor Wanyama both out, while Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembele was sold earlier this month.

Harry Kane is already sidelined with an ankle injury picked up in the defeat to Manchester United

Spurs will be without Alli for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Thursday, as well as several league games, the FA Cup clash with Crystal Palace and the first leg of their Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund.

Alli faces a race against time to be back for the North London derby against Arsenal and the second leg of the Dortmund fixture, which are scheduled for 2 and 5 March respectively.
