Tottenham star Christian Eriksen on Inter Milan transfer wishlist

Inter Milan are monitoring developments after Christian Eriksen announced his desire to leave Tottenham this summer.

The Danish playmaker informed Spurs of his desire to leave the club towards the end of May, and would prefer to move to Real Madrid, who have him high on their list of targets.

But it is understood that Inter have asked to be kept informed of the intentions of Eriksen, who has one year remaining on his £70,000-a-week contract at Spurs.

The Italian club’s chief executive Beppe Marotta pursued Eriksen, 27, when he was director general at Juventus, although a deal was never agreed.

Speaking to Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Eriksen said: “I feel that I am at a place in my career where I might want to try something new.

“I have the greatest and deepest respect for everything that has happened in Tottenham, but I have also said that I would like to try something new.

“It depends on [Spurs chairman] Daniel Levy, but first another club has to come in, or I have to sit down at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself. If I have to go, then, hopefully, it will be a step up.

“[Real Madrid] is a step up. But it requires Real Madrid to call Tottenham and say they want me. And they have not done so yet, as far as I know.”
