Tottenham signing Gareth Bale ready to play 'anywhere' in Jose Mourinho's side

Gareth Bale insists he would be comfortable playing anywhere in attack for Jose Mourinho's Tottenham side.

The Welshman secured an emotional return to Tottenham on a season-long loan deal earlier in September, joining an exciting front-line currently spearheaded by Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Though it remains to be seen when Bale will make his second debut in north London, having arrived with a minor knee injury, Mourinho has ensured the 31-year-old will not walk into the side based on reputation, but by proving he's the best for the job.

Looking at where Bale will fit in the Spurs side, Lucas Moura - who operates on the right-flank - could be most at risk with Kane and Son a certain mainstay.

And though pointing out the versatility in his game, Bale admits it's the right where he's most experienced.

Asked where he'd like to play, Bale told Sky Sports: "Anywhere across the front.

"I'm comfortable on the right where l have played most of my career, behind the striker where l have played a lot, and I've played on the left a lot."

Though tales of Bale's iconic bursts down the White Hart Lane touchline will remain in Tottenham folklore, the forward admits he returns a different player, though insisting that's not a negative.

"I'm not the 20-year-old who sprints 90 yards down the touchline every two seconds!" he added. "As you get older you realise you have to manage yourself a little bit more and pick the right moments.

"You learn the game more. When you are younger, you want to impress and go at 100 per cent all the time.

"But when you have the experience you can manage yourself, manage the game and manage the situations you find yourself in."
