Tottenham set to sign Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini and are in talks over defender Cristian Romero

Tottenham are set to kick off their transfer business under Nuno Espirito Santo by signing Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.

Spurs are in advanced talks to over an initial loan deal for the 26-year-old, who spent time at Manchester United during his youth career.

Gollini spent two years at Aston Villa before moving to Atalanta on loan in 2017 and joining them permanently in 2018.

He has impressed in Serie A and now Spurs are set to sign him on loan, with the deal expected to include an option to buy Gollini for £12.9million at the end of next season.

The deal will be the first of new boss Nuno’s tenure and also the first move completed by Spurs’ new managing director Fabio Paratici.

Tottenham are also keen on signing Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero, but an agreement for the Argentina international is yet to be found as talks continue.
