According to the bookies, the former Swansea boss is 4/1 to take over should the hot seat become vacant, placing him just ahead of Burnley boss Sean Dyche at 6/1.
Monk has been out of work since being sacked by Birmingham City in the week, amid suggestions of friction between himself and the Blues hierachy.

Celta Vigo teenager Erik Bugarin is reportedly set to join Wolves this summer.
That's according to El Desmarque, with the Premier League outfit seemingly beating Middlesbrough to the 16-year old's signature.
Bugarin is widely seen as one of the finest players to have come through the ranks at Celta, and Wolves reportedly see him as a hot prospect for the future at Molineux.
