Tottenham set for financial windfall as Jose Mourinho plans to exploit Man United's weaknesses

We are close to the return of the Premier League.

After a three-month break, football is just one week away now, getting supporters excited, albeit without actually being able to attend matches.

Tottenham take on Manchester United first up next Friday and preparations are well under way for that clash.

There is plenty going on around the club in the build-up to that and more off the field of play too that we round-up right here.

Huge financial boost

Premier League clubs are set to benefit from a big financial windfall in the 2020/21 season.

Finances have been hit this summer as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, which will put a strain on incoming transfers.

However, leading financial experts Deloitte expect there to be a huge rebound in terms of revenue ahead of the 2020/21 season.

And that will be a big bonus for Tottenham, as explained here.

Man United's weaknesses

The return of the Premier League has thrown up a fine match-up - Tottenham versus Manchester United.

It is a battle of two teams trying to cut the gap to Chelsea and make it into the top four in the table.

But there is also the storyline that it is Jose Mourinho up against his former employers once more.

And if anyone knows the weaknesses that United have, it's Mourinho.

Here's what he can do to exploit them.

Bruno Fernandes makes an impression

One player Tottenham will come up against on Friday night, that might well have been in their side instead, is Bruno Fernandes.

Tottenham tried to sign the Portuguese last summer, but could not get a deal done and Manchester United made them pay by snapping him up in the January transfer window.

And he has already proven to be a shrewd signing.

Here's how he and the rest of the United players have been getting on in preparation for the Spurs clash.

Fixtures confirmed

There has been no official announcement as such, but the fixtures for the rest of the season appear to have been confirmed.

Find out here.

A look through the Premier League's official website will show you the games Tottenham have to play and when, although they will be subject to change for television coverage.

But it does at least offer an indication of when supporters can see their team in action.
