Tottenham send message to Wolves about signing former Nottingham Forest man - report

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly recommended former Nottingham Forest scout Simon Hunt to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Hunt it looking for a new job, with his most recent role at the Reds as the head of scouting.

He was appointed in October 2018 during Aitor Karanka's time at the City Ground but has since left the club, with Jose Anigo coming in to work alongside director of football Kyriakos Dourekas as head of international recruitment.

Now he is said to be in advanced talks with Premier League fliers Wolves about becoming their new sporting director, with website Football Insider claiming Spurs are just one of a few clubs who have recommended Hunt to Wolves.

However our sister title in the second city, BirminghamLive, say Wolves are not planning to appoint a replacement for Kevin Thelwell after he left for New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer earlier this year.

Hunt has previously held roles at the Reds' A52 rivals Derby County and Southampton, Ipswich Town and Hearts.

The former Wrexham midfiedler also turned out for Swedish sides IF Elfsborg, IK Brage and GAIS before transitioning into management with IK Brage and Kalmar FF.

Hunt was also a sporting director at Forest's Championship promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion.
