Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as big contenders to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud before Friday’s transfer deadline.
The French striker has been out-of-favour at Stamford Bridge so far this season, playing second fiddle to Tammy Abraham.
Now bookmakers have slashed the prices on the chance of Giroud leaving before the 11pm deadline on Friday night.
Italian club Inter Milan currently lead the chase to sign the former Arsenal man, with odds of 4/6, at the time of writing, being offered on the Frenchman making the switch to the San Siro.
But hot on the heels of the Italian giants in the race for Giroud are Tottenham, who are desperate to bolster their attacking ranks after losing Harry Kane to a hamstring injury.
Betfair are currently offering odds of 7/2 for Tottenham to land the striker, who has not scored for Chelsea since the UEFA Super Cup final back in August.
Further down the betting, Arsenal, who sold Giroud to Chelsea back in January 2018, are being tipped at 20/1 to re-sign the forward. Aston Villa are also being priced at 20/1 to land the France international.
There’s even a bigger gap to the club currently registered as the fifth favourites to land the 33-year-old, with West Ham United, who are desperate for reinforcements ahead of the 11pm deadline on Friday night, currently being priced at 25/1 to get a deal done.
Giroud will most likely be desperate to leave Stamford Bridge by the weekend, with his game-time being extremely limited this season.
Under Lampard, he has played in just five Premier League games - the last being back at the end of November.
