Giovani Lo Celso in action for Argentina on Friday

But Spurs are in the dark over when Argentine pair Lo Celso and Romero will be released by their countries after head coach Lionel Scaloni appeared to back out of an understanding to release them early.
Tottenham believed they had an arrangement with the Argentinian FA for Lo Celso and Romero to leave South America after the second of their three World Cup qualifiers, potentially making them available for their London derby against Chelsea on September 19.
But, speaking before Argentina beat Venezuela 3-1 this morning, Scaloni said: “We gave the list for the three games and there are no doubts about that.”
Argentina play their last game on September 10 and featuring would rule Lo Celso and Romero out of the League games against Crystal Palace and Chelsea, and the Europa Conference League match at Rennes.
If the players were to return directly to the UK from South America, they would face a compulsory 10-day hotel quarantine and would be unable to train.
But if they can travel from South America to a UK green-list country and spend nine days there they can return to the UK without isolating.
Rather than being stuck in a hotel room, the Spurs trio would be free train in Croatia and the club is planning 10 days of training there to help keep them up to speed before they return to England.
