Tottenham's positive Harry Kane injury update as Juan Foyth returns to training ahead of Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has commenced on-field rehab.

The England captain has been out of action since the beginning of the year after tearing his hamstring in the 1-0 Premier League defeat away at  Southampton on New Year's Day.

He has since been joined on the sidelines by Son Heung-min which has left Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho short of options in attack and that's been evident in defeats against RB Leipzig and Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho: I have no complaints about my players

But there would appear to be light at the end of the tunnel for the Lilywhites.

According to the Sun , Kane's recovery is going even better than expected and the forward is said to be targeting a return in just six weeks which means he would play a part in the season run-in.

And now the club have confirmed that Kane has commenced on-field rehab in their latest injury update ahead of Sunday's clash against Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This keeps in line with Mourinho's hope of having Kane available for the trip to Leicester City at the beginning of May.

"He’s a little bit ahead of schedule. Gives me a little bit of hope that instead of one or two matches he could be three, four or five.

"He is feeling good."

Elsewhere there's great news regarding Juan Foyth.

The Argentina international has returned to training following a spell on the sidelines with a groin injury, although the game against Wolves could come too soon for him.

Ryan Sessegnon, Moussa Sissoko and Son remain on the sidelines, with Mourinho hopeful the latter will feature again this season.

"That’s a hope but we’re far from it," he added. "He’s coming back soon [to the UK] and we have to follow safety protocols.

"Then we’ll look at all the possibilities.

"I cannot imagine when but there’s a good chance that before the end of the season we have Harry and Sonny playing together."
