New Tottenham kit is made entirely out of recycled plastic bottles

Tottenham’s new kits for the 2020-21 season are made entirely out of recycled fabric.

The Nike strips, unveiled by the club on Thursday morning, is constructed out of recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled bottles.

The move is part of the club’s aims of minimising the environmental impact of its activities across all operations. Spurs have already begun offsetting their carbon footprint by planting over 300 new and semi-mature trees and tens of thousands of new plants, hedges and flowers across their Training Centre to establish an ecological habitat

“Tottenham Hotspur’s 2020-21 designs try to capture some of the excitement generated through what has been a momentous time for the Club,” says Scott Munson, VP Nike Football Apparel.

“The Home kit is a modern take on their traditional identity while the Away kit introduces a fresh look inspired by the style and colours of London streetwear.”

“They look great,” said Spurs striker Harry Kane. “The Home shirt has that distinct Spurs feel to it with a modern look thanks to all the special touches. As an Away kit, this shade of green is a new colour that suits us really well, and the small details also make a big difference.”
