Tottenham's most likely Champions League pot one opponents

Spurs are just days away from finding out who they will face in the group stage of the Champions League.

The draw takes place on Thursday August 29th at 5pm BST in Monaco.

Tottenham finished in fourth place in the Premier League last season, meaning that Mauricio Pochettino's men are in pot number two for the draw. Spurs will be hoping to go one step further in the competition this time around, after losing out to Liverpool in the final of the tournament at the end of last season.

Ahead of Thursday's draw Twitter account BayernForum have crunched the numbers by running 50millon simulations of the draw and worked out the probability of who each team in pot one and two could face in the group stage.

According to the account, Spurs will have to make it to the latter stages of the competition the hard way as their most likely opponents are Spanish giants Barcelona with a percentage of 21.56%.

Juventus and Bayern Munich are rated as the least likely opponents, however, the chance is still rated at 19.03% - nearly a one in five chance.

Having made the final last season, Tottenham fans will be hoping that Pochettino's men can at least replicate that this season. Spurs supporters will be watching the draw intently with the hope that it is the start of another memorable Champions League journey.
