Tottenham's most accurate passer this season revealed - and it's not Winks, Eriksen or Kane

Tottenham Hotspur's start to the new season hasn't gone too well.

Despite only being three points off the Champions League places after eight games played in the Premier League, there has been far too many worrying results.

It all began with a 1-0 home defeat against Newcastle United.

That result was sandwiched between a pair of 2-2 draws away at Manchester City as well as Arsenal, but things have taken a turn for the worst since the September international break.

They let a two-goal lead slip against Olympiacos which was followed up by a 2-1 loss against Leicester City three days later and then there was a penalty shootout loss against League Two Colchester in the Carabao Cup.

Whilst there has been impressive performances against Crystal Palace as well as Southampton, the last two fixture has brought about genuine concern among some Spurs fans.

A 7-2 thumping at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League is arguably the lowest point of Mauricio Pochettino's tenure as manager, and things didn't get better at the Amex Stadium at the weekend as Spurs were beaten 3-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion.

In this period not many Spurs players have stood out - for the right reasons.

But thanks to WyScout there has at least been one standout performer this season - at least when it comes to passing a football.

As seen in the graphic above, Moussa Sissoko has completed more passes in the final third than any Spurs player with an impressive 93.75% accuracy.

That places him above the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Axel Witsel across Europe's top five leagues.

In fact, only four players are above him - Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum, AC Milan's Alessio Romagnoli, Inter's Milan Skriniar and Maxime Lopez of Marseille.

That's certainly some good company to be keeping and Sissoko being in the list may come as a surprise to a few Spurs fans.

When thinking of accurate passers within the Tottenham squad many would immediately think of Harry Winks, Harry Kane or Christian Eriksen.

Meanwhile, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are adept at bringing the ball out from the back.

But none are as good as Sissoko.
