Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino charged over rant at Mike Dean following Burnley defeat

Mauricio Pochettino has been charged with improper conduct after his post-match rant at referee Mike Dean following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat by Burnley.

The Spurs manager was furious with decisions during the Premier League match at Turf Moor and marched on to the pitch at full-time to vent his fury at Dean.

If found guilty, Pochettino could face a touchline ban.

In a statement, the Football Association said: “Mauricio Pochettino has been charged with two breaches of FA Rule E3 following the game against Burnley on Saturday [23 February 2019].

“It is alleged the Tottenham Hotspur manager’s language and/or behaviour at the end of the fixture – both on the pitch and in or around the tunnel area – amounted to improper conduct.

“He has until 18:00 on 28 February 2019 to respond to the charge.”

Dean was due to be the fourth official at Tottenham's league game against Chelsea on Wednesday evening, but has now been switched to Manchester City's meeting with West Ham.
