Tottenham's Kieran Trippier a £25m transfer target for 2 Italian giants

Kieran Trippier is at the centre of a £25million tug of war between Italian sides Napoli and Juventus.

New boss Maurizio Sarri has identified the Tottenham and England right-back as a candidate to become his first signing for the Serie A champions, having seen him in action at first hand this past season as Chelsea manager.

Trippier would replace Joao Cancelo, who has Manchester City circling, if he goes to Turin.

But Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti, another former Chelsea manager, has already opened talks with Spurs to sign the 28-year-old — who they are willing to sell for the right price.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has France international Serge Aurier and rising star Kyle Walker-Peters as right-back options in his squad already, but could also look to dip into the market should they get a £3.5m profit on a player signed from Burnley four years ago after his first season in charge at White Hart Lane.

Portugal international Cancelo only signed for Juventus from Spanish club Valencia 12 months ago, but the 25-year-old looks as though he could replace Danilo at the back-to-back Premier League champions.

Spurs are also confident of making winger Jack Clarke of Championship play-offs side Leeds their first signing since Lucas Moura joined from Paris Saint-Germain 18 months ago, with the north London club closing in on a deal worth potentially £8.5m plus add-ons.

Elsewhere, they are monitoring £15m-rated Denmark Under-21 sensation Andreas Skov Olsen.

The 19-year-old winger, who currently plays for FC Nordsjaelland, has won a string of admirers across Europe after a hugely impressive campaign last season that saw him score 19 league goals and 23 in all competitions.

He has also taken his form onto the international stage, scoring for his country’s U21 side in a 3-1 win over their Austrian counterparts last week at that age-group's European Championship in Italy.
