Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga transfer U-turn as Inter Milan make Lautaro Martinez decision

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Tuesday, August 17.

Tottenham’s Tanganga U-turn

Spurs have reportedly reconsidered plans to offload Japhet Tanganga this month.

The defender put in a man of the match performance in Nuno Espirito Santo’s first competitive game in charge of the Lilywhites as he helped his team to victory over Premier League Champions Manchester City.

And now, according to Football Insider, the Portuguese head coach has changed his mind about letting Tanganga go out on loan this summer, and would like him to remain at the club, after being impressed with him in training and in the first game of the season.

Tanganga started the game at right-back against City ahead of Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier, who has been strongly linked with a move away.

Inter Milan’s Martinez transfer decision

Tottenham’s pursuit of Lautaro Martinez has taken another fresh turn after reports emerged that Inter Milan are willing to offer the Argentine a more influential role in their side.

football.london reported in early August that Tottenham had agreed a fee with Inter for his services, believed to be in excess of €60million euros (£51million).

And now, it appears as though a potential deal has been made even more difficult, following recent reports from Italy.

Spurs target Bamford

Tottenham are reportedly chasing the signature of Leeds United talisman Patrick Bamford.

That's according to the Telegraph, who say that the 27-year-old is 'on the radar' of Spurs, but Leeds remain hopeful he will extend his stay at Elland Road.

Bamford has recently entered the final 12 months of his contract with the Yorkshire outfit, but recently admitted he wants to stay put with the club he has been at since making a £10million move from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018.
