Tottenham's Jack Clarke says QPR boss Mark Warburton key to loan move decision

Tottenham winger Jack Clarke says talks with QPR boss Mark Warburton convinced him to continue his development at Loftus Road.

Clarke impressed at Leeds last season, prompting Spurs to seal a £10m move last summer before sending the midfielder back to Elland Road on loan.

However, restricted first-team opportunities saw the loan deal cut short and Clarke will now spend the rest of the season at QPR, joining fellow Spurs player Luke Amos at the club.

“I am delighted and looking forward to getting started,” he told the club's official website.

"I like to create chances, take people on, I’m very direct with the ball and love running with it.”

“I spoke to Mark a fair few times, he was one of the main factors in me coming here - in terms of how he wants to play football and how he sees me fitting in.”

First up for Clarke is boyhood club Leeds, with the 19-year-old registered in time to make his debut this weekend.

He will wear the no.47 shirt number, the same he wore for Leeds.

On possibly facing Leeds, Clarke said: “You couldn’t write it, could you? I am just excited to get going and to kick-start things with my new team.”
