Tottenham's hopes of Tanguy Ndombele transfer dealt major blow

Tottenham's hopes of signing Tanguy Ndombele have been dented by Paris Saint-Germain.

Ndombele is Tottenham's No.1 transfer target this summer with Spurs locked in talks with Lyon over the £71million rated midfielder.

But French champions PSG have also registered their interest in Ndombele, 22, and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted that there are several offers on the table.

Tottenham have already had a £40m bid rejected and are not willing to go to Lyon’s asking price.

But Spurs are ready to break their club transfer record of £40m, spent on Davinson Sanchez two years ago.

Pochettino, who is ready to let England midfielder Eric Dier go if Tottenham get the right offer, is aiming to restructure his midfield this summer.

Christian Eriksen’s future is still uncertain and and Ndombele is set to be a key part of that new midfield jigsaw.

Spurs are also closing in on a £15m deal for Leeds winger Jack Clarke but the 18-year-old could be loaned back to the Championship club for the season next year as part of the deal.

It is set to be a busy summer for Tottenham with Mauricio Pochettino overseeing something of an overhaul.

Pochettino is primed for an offer from Juventus for England right-back Kieran Trippier.

Trippier is wanted by Juve as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Joao Cancelo and Spurs would be willing to listen to offers in the region of £25m.

Danny Rose could also be up for grabs after admitting his future is unclear following the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool .
