Tottenham's Europa Conference League fixtures and the Premier League games that will be moved

Tottenham have been handed a rather tricky start to the 2021/22 Premier League season with Man City to come on the opening day.

Although maybe a good time to play the reigning champions when they aren't at the top of their game, Spurs then have top-six rivals Chelsea and Arsenal to come in their first six fixtures.

The Lilywhites' participation in the Europa League last term meant they played an awful lot of league matches on a Sunday and that will be the case once again from August onwards due to their place in the Europa Conference League.

While all the dates for next season's Premier League games are provisional at present with broadcasting picks still to be made, it's clear to see which Tottenham fixtures will be moved as the European football calendar is already in place.

As no teams directly qualify for the Europa Conference League group stage and instead have to make it through qualifying, Spurs will be in play-off action on August 19 and 26.

That means the away trip to Wolves and home clash against Watford will have to be moved with UEFA's new competition taking place on a Thursday.

Providing of course that Tottenham do come through their play-off clash and qualify for the group stage of the Europa Conference League, six of their games in the first part of the season will need to be rescheduled.

The September games at home against Chelsea and Aston Villa will need to be rearranged, with October's away clash at West Ham also having to be altered with both teams in European action on the Thursday.

The first game in November away at Everton will also need to be moved, as will the away trip to Burnley at the end of the month.

Already facing a hectic December with seven league games to deal with, the away match at Brighton & Hove Albion will need a new date due to Tottenham's final group stage game.

Here are the Premier League games that will need to be moved due to Spurs' Europa Conference League fixtures:

21/08 - Wolves A (ECL Play-off round first leg)

28/08 - Watford H (ECL Play-off round second leg)

18/09 - Chelsea H (ECL Matchday 1)

02/10 - Aston Villa H 15:00 (ECL Matchday 2)

23/10 - West Ham A 15:00 (ECL Matchday 3)

06/11 - Everton A 15:00 (ECL Matchday 4)

27/11 - Burnley A 15:00 (ECL Matchday 5)

11/12 - Brighton & Hove Albion A 15:00 (ECL Matchday 6)
