It was another season of progression for Tottenham Hotspur last year, as they finished in the top-four once again and defied the odds by reaching the Champions League final.
Ultimately though, the questions remain around when Mauricio Pochettino's rise in North London will result in silverware, as it has now been 11 years since the Lilywhites lifted the League Cup.
The signs are promising though, as an already-talented squad has been improved by the club-record acquisition of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, while Jack Clarke was also brought in but will remain at Leeds United on loan for 2019/20.
Having ended their self-inflicted snub of the transfer market and having another year of experience under their belt, Spurs fans believe that further good things are to follow.
With the start of the Premier League season right around the corner, Spurs are busy preparing for the big kick-off against Aston Villa and excitement is building.
BT Sport have added further fuel to the fire by developing a bumper supercomputer that has predicted everything from Premier League results to the continental campaign, including who will be the top-scorers, leading creators and strongest defence in the top-flight.
However, a slow start is predicted for Pochettino's side as they are backed to narrowly defeat Villa, before losing to Manchester City and drawing 2-2 with North London rivals Arsenal.
It continues in the Champions League, as Bayern Munich inflict a heavy defeat upon Spurs and that is followed by a Premier League defeat to Leicester City. Just six weeks into the season, Spurs are six points off the top four.
Improvement is around the corner though, with Spurs finding themselves just two-points off top-spot after 14 weeks, but in Europe the campaign ends in despair, as Spurs finish third in the group and are demoted into the Europa League.
Any hopes of title glory for the first time in 61 years end swiftly though, as by the end of January things fall apart again - and once again it's the club's top-six record that becomes the problem.
Spurs find their feet to secure another top-four finish but the big story is in the Europa League, as Pochettino's side see off Wolves, Napoli and RB Leipzig to reach the final, where they beat Manchester United in Gdansk to lift a first trophy in 12 years.
It's another step forward for Tottenham, although it wasn't the Champions League glory that could have been secured in Madrid, but critics have been answered.
Another top-four finish, victories against Manchester City and Chelsea in the league and defeating United in a European final would certainly be something fans would enjoy.
