Harry Redknapp on I'm A Celebrity: Is former Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart also set to join?

Rafael van der Vaart has jokingly hinted at a stint in the jungle to join former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Redknapp has confirmed as one of 10 people heading to Australia for ITV's reality TV series, joining the likes of The Chase's Anne Hegerty and Doctor Who actor John Barrowman.

Having arrived from Real Madrid in 2010, Van der Vaart spent two years at White Hart Lane under Redknapp for a spell he has regularly described as the best of his career.

The Dutchman announced his retirement from football earlier in November, making his free to join hosts Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly for a Bucktucker Trial.

Redknapp may welcome a friendly face in the jungle, having already admitted that leaving wife Sandra will be the hardest aspect of his time away.

"That's the biggest problem I have got," he said. "We do everything together. I have been with Sandra for 54 years and I hate being away from her."
