Tottenham re-sign Michel Vorm: Former Spurs goalkeeper back after Hugo Lloris injury

Tottenham have confirmed the re-signing of Dutch goalkeeper Michel Vorm on a deal until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old was released by Spurs when his contract ran out in June, and had been without a club.

However, with Hugo Lloris out until at least the New Year after suffering an horrific dislocated elbow in the 3-0 defeat against Brighton, Mauricio Pochettino had been left with Paulo Gazzaniga as his only available senior stopper.

Vorm’s arrival as a free agent is permitted outside of the usual transfer window regulations. He first arrived at the club in 2014, joining from Swansea City, and spent the majority of his five-year-stay as backup to French World Cup winner

Lloris.

"I’m happy to be back," Vorm, who will wear the number 13 shirt that he vacated in the summer, told the club website. "It’s easy really, nothing’s really changed, I know most of the players and the staff. For me it’s coming home.

"During the week I got the phone call and I was open to coming back and helping us out."
