Tottenham: Randal Kolo Muani's first Spurs start delayed as Thomas Frank issues injury update

Randal Kolo Muani’s wait for a first start at Tottenham continues after Thomas Frank ruled him out of the League Cup third round.

The French international, on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, suffered a “minor injury”, according to the Spurs head coach, which means that he will not face Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday.

Kolo Muani’s first appearance for the club came as a substitute in their 1-0 win over Villarreal in the Europa League, and he has not featured since.

He also was sidelined for the 2-2 draw against Brighton last weekend with a dead leg.

When asked about Kolo Muani’s fitness, Frank grouped the striker in with Ben Davies, who will also miss out tomorrow with a knee issue he picked up in training before the Brighton match.

"Minor injuries both of them,” the Spurs boss said.

“It's just too short a turnaround unfortunately."

Spurs remain with Dejan Kulusevski, who has not featured under Frank after picking up a serious knee injury at the end of last season.

The 25-year-old has been training in the gym but is yet to return to training, with Kulusevski still some way from returning to action.

“Of course Kulusevski is a top player, I always liked him when I saw him from afar,” Frank said.

“He is a key player for us, a key player for me. Instead of putting an exact month, I just want him back as soon as possible. The medical guys and Kulusevski are working very hard on that. It’s not tomorrow but hopefully not too far away.”

On whether he expects to have the Swede available again before the end of the year, Frank added: “Yes, there's a good chance for that.”
