Tottenham predicted team vs Wolves: Nuno makes Harry Kane decision as Cristian Romero misses out

The main question for Nuno Espirito Santo once again concerns Harry Kane as Tottenham Hotspur take on Wolves.

Spurs head to Molineux after a strange week, which brought an excellent performance to beat Manchester City on Sunday but then a poor display to lose at Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League.

Espirito Santo rested all of his starting XI from the City win for the trip to Portugal, while Kane remained at Hotspur Way working on his fitness.

Moussa Sissoko was also left in the UK, with Serge Aurier and Tanguy Ndombele out of the squad for the play-off matches.

Joe Rodon remains out with an injury, while Cameron Carter-Vickers twisted his ankle late on in the European defeat.

Kane is understood to have made the trip to Wolverhampton after Espirito Santo said he was looking fitter and fitter in training and had had a good session on Friday.

However, new signing Cristian Romero is not in the squad following his first 90 minutes since July 10 following his return from his knee ligament injury.

The 23-year-old centre-back was seen holding his knee and grimacing during the latter stages of the game in Portugal and although Espirito Santo hoped it was purely fatigue, football.london understands that Romero is not being risked for Sunday's game due to what is seen as a minor knock to his knee.

The Argentine's absence means it's likely that Espirito Santo will stick with the pairing of Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier, who both performed well against City as Spurs kept a clean sheet against the champions.

Japhet Tanganga was the man of the match against Pep Guardiola's side and should continue at right-back.

Elsewhere in the team, few of those who played in Portugal on Thursday night did their chances of breaking into the Premier League starting XI much good.

Espirito Santo also said Tanguy Ndombele would not be in his squad to face Wolves.

Here's the team we reckon the Spurs boss will select:

(4-3-3) Lloris; Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Skipp, Hojbjerg, Alli; Lucas, Son, Bergwijn.
