Tottenham predicted team vs Roma: Antonio Conte selects two new signings in starting XI

Antonio Conte is set to name his final friendly starting line-up of the summer as Tottenham complete their pre-season preparations with the match against Jose Mourinho's Roma in Israel on Saturday night.

Predicting the team that will take to the pitch for a friendly is always difficult. However, Conte will likely want to pick a Tottenham side as close to the one that he wants to start against Southampton next weekend in the Premier League opener as he will want that starting XI to have the maximum fitness and rhythm of playing together.

Oliver Skipp remains out through injury and Joe Rodon has been left at home so he can tie up a loan move to Rennes, who will have an option to buy the Welsh centre-back with a medical expected to take place this weekend. Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon are back at Hotspur Way after being told they are not in Conte's plans for this coming season.

Conte does have Ben Davies back in the fold as an option but following his ankle injury the chances are that he might be eased back in from the bench. That means either Davinson Sanchez or summer signing Clement Lenglet will be given the nod if Conte decides the Wales international is not ready to start again yet.

The head coach's main selection choices otherwise come in the centre of the pitch and at right wing-back, where Djed Spence, Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and Lucas Moura are all vying to start. On the left, Spurs' first summer signing Ivan Perisic may still be finding his way back to fitness which could give Ryan Sessegnon another start.

In the centre of the pitch, the Tottenham boss must make a decision on how fit Yves Bissouma is following his bout of Covid in Korea just over a week and a half ago.

Here is the team we reckon Conte could select to face Roma:

3-4-3: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Spence, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
