The Portuguese must get the positive feeling going again at Tottenham, starting with Thursday night's match against NS Mura in the Europa Conference League group stages.
Oliver Skipp and Bryan Gil both impressed after coming on in the second half following Spurs' disastrous opening 45 minutes at Arsenal on Sunday and will likely get minutes.
Joe Rodon will also be hoping that he finally gets to start a match again.
Elsewhere, Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso will likely get more game time while Espirito Santo will choose between Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty at right-back.
Ben Davies was not spotted in training on Wednesday and if he is not fit, with Ryan Sessegnon out, then either Sergio Reguilon will play or Japhet Tanganga will switch across to the left.
Elsewhere, the Spurs boss must pick between getting players fitter and sharper through minutes or giving others chances to impress.
Harry Winks has missed out on recent squads and could get the opportunity to play.
Youngster Dane Scarlett was deliberately only given 45 minutes for the U23s on Monday night against Derby, which could indicate he will get minutes against Mura.
Espirito Santo also must decide whether to stick with the 4-3-3 formation or use Spurs' more familiar 4-2-3-1 or the back three that he used most often at Wolves.
