Tottenham predicted team vs Man City: Erik Lamela to start, Lucas out as Bale returns to bench

Jose Mourinho is going to have some tired bodies as Tottenham Hotspur make the trip to face Manchester City on Saturday evening.

Spurs' see-saw FA Cup tie at Everton on Wednesday night went to extra-time with six players playing for the full two hours and others like Harry Kane and Dele Alli getting far more minutes that they or Mourinho had wanted.

Mourinho said on Friday that Giovani Lo Celso remains out, with Sergio Reguilon expected to remain out as well.

The Spurs boss said that he would check on Serge Aurier in the final training session before the match at the Etihad Stadium to see whether the Ivorian right-back could return from the injury picked up against West Brom.

The head coach said the same applied to Gareth Bale, who asked for a scan on a muscle problem this week that showed no injury.

Mourinho also admitted to football.london that he would ask Erik Lamela if the Argentine could start a third game in a row after two positive displays this week.

Elsewhere either Moussa Sissoko or Harry Winks is likely to come in to add fresh legs into the midfield. The latter's struggles in his time from the bench on Wednesday night might ensure the Frenchman gets the job.

Other players like Ben Davies, Son Heung-min and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are likely to be asked to keep on playing despite playing the full 90 minutes at Goodison Park.

Mourinho will have to decide whether to freshen up the centre of his defence with either Eric Dier or Joe Rodon, while he could turn to Japhet Tanganga to provide a solid back-up to Aurier or Davies.

Here is the team we reckon Mourinho will go with:

(4-2-3-1) Lloris; Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Sissoko, Hojbjerg; Lamela, Ndombele, Son; Kane.
