Tottenham predicted team vs Chelsea: Son Heung-min and Eric Dier to face late fitness test

Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping to have a few players back in contention as Tottenham face Chelsea in their latest derby clash on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs have struggled since the international break began with five injuries and three South American players missing due to their required time out of the country following their international appearances in red listed countries.

Eric Dier and Son Heung-min were struggling at the start of the week with a dead leg and a calf injury respectively, but they have been pushing hard to try to be fit to face the Blues.

football.london understands that while they have not taken part in full training yet with the duo rated at 50/50 for the match, they have been doing some outdoor work and are among those who face a fitness assessment on Sunday to decide whether they can take part.

Davinson Sanchez, Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso are all back in the country now after their time in Croatia and had one training session on Saturday with the team ahead of the derby, where the Spurs head coach was set to assess their fitness levels.

Espirito Santo will also need to decide whether he will give Tanguy Ndombele another chance in the centre of the pitch, although the Frenchman did appear to be hobbling and asking to come off on Thursday evening.

Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn also both came off with injuries in Rennes and will have been assessed this week.

Ultimately the Spurs boss must get the balance right between defending against the attacking qualities of Chelsea while ensure Tottenham pose some threat themselves in front of what will hopefully be a noisy crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Here's the Tottenham team we reckon Espirito Santo will go with:

4-3-3: Lloris; Emerson, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Alli; Lucas, Kane, Son.
