Tottenham predicted team vs Brighton: Tanguy Ndombele back as Mourinho makes Gareth Bale call

Jose Mourinho was not a happy man after Tottenham Hotspur's midweek defeat and many, if not all, of those who came into that team will find themselves out of the team for Sunday's game against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Spurs boss told the media that they could no longer ask him why he does not play certain players in the Premier League after some of the performances he witnessed in the 1-0 defeat at Royal Antwerp in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Mourinho made four changes at half-time in Belgium with Harry Kane coming on before the hour mark to complete the set of five he could make.

The north London side have a chance to climb up to second place in the fledgling Premier League table if they can beat Brighton and other results go their way on Sunday.

Eric Dier and Tanguy Ndombele were both left at home in midweek to rest and recover and will likely return to the starting line-up, Mourinho admitting the team missed the latter's quick thinking and forward passing.

Most of the other starters from the 1-0 victory against Burnley on Monday night are likely to come back in.

One of the only changes could be Sergio Reguilon keeping his place from Thursday ahead of Ben Davies on the left after the Welshman's mistake which led to Antwerp's goal as he played a centre-back.

Mourinho must also make a decision on who plays on the right side to support Kane and Son Heung-min.

Gareth Bale got another hour of football into his legs but struggled to impress against Antwerp.

Steven Bergwijn was hooked at half-time while Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura came off the bench for the second half.

Here is the Spurs team we reckon Mourinho will choose to face Brighton:

(4-3-3) Lloris; Doherty, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Sissoko, Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Lucas, Kane, Son.
