Tottenham player ratings vs Sheffield United: Defence awful as Spurs fall to convincing defeat

Hugo Lloris

Low save to deny George Baldock inside the first minute but couldn't do anything about all three goals on the evening. Barely had anything to do apart from pick the ball out the net. 5

Serge Aurier

Pushed up on a couple of occasions but his final ball was lacking at times in the first half. Was asleep for the second goal as Enda Stevens got in the box and played a simple ball across goal for his teammate. Subbed shortly after. 4

Jose Mourinho on Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier's partnership

Davinson Sanchez

Relatively comfortable in the first half but played his part in the third goal as he allowed Oli McBurnie to run past him to net. 4

Eric Dier

Becoming a key figure at the back for Spurs and made some brilliant headers in the first half. However, Mousset peeled off him and sneaked between him and Davies to double the lead. Will be disappointed after his recent good showings. 4

Ben Davies

Not as impressive as his previous display against West Ham. Was nowhere near Mousset as he finished off Stevens' cross 20 minutes from time. 4

Moussa Sissoko

Saw a lot of the ball in the first half and fired straight at Dean Henderson with a rare sight on goal. Not as lively after the break and didn't follow his man for the second goal. Subbed after the goal. 5

Giovani Lo Celso

On the ball a lot in the first half but just couldn't make things happen for his side in the final third. Far from his best today. 5

Lucas Moura

Didn't see much of the ball early on but played a key role in Harry Kane's disallowed goal with a determined run. A couple of runs but little end product as usual. 5

Steven Bergwijn

Operated centrally in the three behind Harry Kane and saw a lot of the ball and caused problems for the hosts with his pace and trickery. However, was subbed early in the second half as Erik Lamela came on. 5

Son Heung-min

Caused some real problems for the hosts with his running in the first half as he teamed up well with his fellow attackers. Quieter after the break as he waits to score his first goal after the restart. Did tee up Kane for his goal before the final whistle. 5

Harry Kane

Few chances on goal early on but managed to find the net in the 32nd minute only for it to be disallowed for handball. Was the same story for him after the break before he grabbed a late consolation. 5

Substitutes

Erik Lamela (Steven Bergwijn, 56)

Made an immediate impact following his introduction with a bright run into the Blades' box. Some good play as he looked to get his side back into the game. 6

Tanguy Ndombele (Moussa Sissoko, 70)

Couldn't make an impact in the final third with Spurs 2-0 down. 4

Dele Alli (Serge Aurier, 70)

Brought on in the closing stages but quiet. 4

Jan Vertonghen (Ben Davies,

Came on for the final nine minutes. N/A
