Tottenham player ratings: Dele Alli the game changer as Lucas and Son turn FA Cup tie around

Hugo Lloris

Made a couple of early saves as Southampton threatened. Pushed out Redmond's shot to the unmarked Long to fire home Saints' leveller. Palmed out a couple of dangerous crosses in the second half and pushed over a Verstergaard header from a corner. 5

Serge Aurier

Got into plenty of advanced positions but got caught ball watching when Tanganga was dragged inside for the visitors' equaliser, leaving Long unmarked. Tried to push Spurs forward in the second half with his raids down the right. 6

Alasdair Gold's reaction to Jose Mourinho's press conference

Toby Alderweireld

Busy night for the Belgian with Saints giving the backline plenty to deal with. Didn't do much wrong. 6

Jan Vertonghen

Looked very rusty. When he was taken off before the hour mark looked absolutely gutted as he walked incredibly slowly around the outside of the pitch, having come off behind the goal. 4

Japhet Tanganga

Started on the right of the back three and ended up on the left of a back four. Another good experience for him on a tough night for the defence. 6

Ryan Sessegnon

Fired an early chance at the keeper before breaking on to a Winks pass and playing his part in the build-up to Stephens' own goal. Got into plenty of attacking situations as the left wing-back and defended well on the whole. One of his best performances so far in a Spurs shirt. 7

Eric Dier

It's a vicious circle for Dier. He needs games to get his sharpness back but looks so incredibly rusty when he does play that it leaves Spurs vulnerable at times. Played his part late on though with some important interceptions. 5

Harry Winks

Played a great ball through to Sessegnon in the build-up to the opening goal. Battled for everything as he normally does and was trying to push the team on late in the game. 7

Tanguy Ndombele celebrates scoring the opener for Spurs against Southampton (Chloe Knott - Danehouse/Getty Images)

Tanguy Ndombele

Has such a strange gait. In possession he looks graceful, almost balletic, without the ball he shuffles around, often taking breathers and frequently holding his left hip. His shot early on was heading wide before Stephens diverted it into the net. Made very little impact after that and was replaced by Alli on the hour mark. 5

Lucas Moura

Ineffective for almost 60 minutes he then started to come alive, driving Spurs on, coming deeper to get the ball, and it paid dividends with a one-two with Alli before firing a low shot past Gunn to level the scores. 7

Son Heung-min

Teed up Sessegnon for an early chance following a good run into the Saints box. Set up Lucas for a header the Brazilian should have scored from. Another game in which he's struggled but for a fourth game in a row it's always one he's scored from and you can't argue with that strike rate. Earned the penalty with a good run and fired it home confidently from the spot. 7

Subs

Gedson Fernandes

Got himself booked within a couple of minutes. Grew into the game as his cameo wore on with some nice touches and he put himself about. Played his part in Tottenham's revival. 7

Dele Alli

The gamechanger for Spurs. Played his part in the one-two to set Lucas away to equalise for Spurs and also set up Son for the penalty incident. 8

Davinson Sanchez

Shored up the defence late on. N/A
