Fernando Llorente could still be a Tottenham Hotspur player after the club offered him a new one-year deal on reduced terms.
The Spaniard's current deal, believed to be worth £100,000-a-week, ended on June 30 and he can now discuss terms with other clubs.
However, Spurs have put a new one-year deal on the table for the 34-year-old, on lower wages than his previous one, if he can not agree a better deal with other clubs.
Llorente is not part of the club's International Champions Cup tour in Singapore and Shanghai and has even been removed from the club's squad list on their website as he looks at his options this summer, with Serie A side Fiorentina believed to be interested in the striker.
The veteran forward has also spoken before about returning to his former club Athletic Bilbao in Spain before he ends his career.
Spurs saw off competition from Chelsea to sign Llorente on the summer transfer window deadline day in 2017 for £15m.
While he has scored just twice in the Premier League since, he was involved in some big moments in the club's run to the Champions League final, including important strikes against Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund and played his part in Lucas Moura's dramatic late winner in the semi-final at Ajax.
