Tottenham's search for a new manager has taken a fresh twist with the club ending their interest in Julian Nagelsmann.
The young German had been touted as the favourite for the role after Chelsea opted to move for former Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino, but the north London club has decided against interviewing him.
The breaking news, confirmed by Standard Sport, has seen a big shake-up in the race for the Spurs hot seat, with Bayer Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso the new favourite.
Standard Sport understands Alonso is of interest, along with Sporting’s Ruben Amorim and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot. Vincent Kompany was previously linked, but has since signed a new contract with Burnley.
