Tottenham news: Spurs suffer top four setback vs Wolves as Harry Kane transfer price revealed

Your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Sunday, March 5.

Cristian Stellini offers 'not so nasty' Tottenham assessment after Wolves defeat

Cristian Stellini took charge of Spurs once again as Antonio Conte recovers from an operation to remove his gallbladder last month. Stellini oversaw the shock FA Cup fifth round exit against Sheffield United and watched the Lilywhites suffer yet another 1-0 defeat, this time against Wolves in the Premier League as their top four hopes took a setback.

After the game, Stellini offered his own assessment of the performance. He said: "I think the performance was good, particularly in the first half when we controlled the game in every aspect.

"We had some chances to score. We were not so nasty in the way to score. When you have a chance like this, you have to kill the game. The game was under control but then in second half we struggled a bit at the start but after 10 minutes we adapted to the situation and we controlled the game."

Adama Traore, who was linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer, scored a late goal against Spurs as they suffered their ninth loss of the season. Following Spurs' 1-0 defeat against Wolves, football.london Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold rated each player's performance on a disappointing afternoon for the Lilywhites.

Fraser Forster

Showed some nice feet to send Neves the wrong way in the Spurs box early on. Made a good flying save to push out Jimenez's header not long into the second half. Then made another fine scrambling save to stop Neves' effort from distance and tipped over a strike from the same man soon after. Saved from Jimenez, perhaps the only complaint being that he pushed it out too centrally, only for Traore to guide the loose ball home. 8

Cristian Romero

A few good aggressive tackles from the Argentine and he was one of the better Spurs defenders on the day. 7

Clement Lenglet

Playing through the centre, he looked in control in the first half but looked less comfortable and almost handed Wolves a goal in the second period with a loose pass that was intercepted and he then was too slow in getting back to stop Cunha's shot. 5

Tottenham ‘name price’ for Harry Kane amid Manchester United interest

Tottenham reportedly want at least £100m for all-time club top scorer Harry Kane if he is to leave this summer. Erik ten Hag is an admirer of the England captain, who is on his list of potential summer striker targets.

Kane is rumoured to have entered discussions over a Spurs renewal with less than 18 months left on his current deal. He exceeded the 200-goal mark in the Premier League last month but the 29-year-old is yet to win a club trophy in his career.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte is sure his star striker will stay at Tottenham going forward but Football Insider reports that if the player does indeed decide he wants an exit, then they would accept a fee no lower than £100m.
