Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Friday, October 7.

Spurs handed Kante boost

According to footmercato, N'Golo Kante is aware of the fact that his time at Stamford Bridge may be coming to an end. Spurs' RWB option vs Brighton could make huge statement

Antonio Conte has a big decision to make this weekend.

Having opted to name the same starting XI at Eintracht Frankfurt despite losing 3-1 at Arsenal, the Italian will be forced to change his Tottenham team for Saturday's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion. Emerson Royal will not be available for the game on the south coast following his dismissal at the Emirates, meaning another Spurs player will come in at right wing-back.

The Brazilian's three-match suspension will also see him not feature in the upcoming Everton and Manchester United encounters. However, he will be able to return to the pitch next Wednesday in the Champions League against Frankfurt as domestic suspensions do not carry over into Europe.

It means one of Matt Doherty or Djed Spence could start, meaning they've got the chance to make a statement to their manager.

Tottenham fitness coach Ventrone dies

Spurs fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone has died, the club announced on Thursday morning. A statement from Tottenham read: "We are devastated to announce that fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone has passed away. The 61-year-old joined the Club in November, 2021, as part of Antonio Conte’s backroom staff, having previously held roles at Juventus, Catania, JS Suning, GZ Evergrande and AC Ajaccio.

"As loveable off the pitch as he was demanding on it, Gian Piero quickly became a hugely popular figure with players and staff. He will be greatly missed by everyone at the Club and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this impossibly sad time."
