Tottenham news: Spurs eye £35m Arsenal target as Hugo Lloris gives honest Premier League verdict

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Friday, October 21.

Spurs could tempt Conte to stay with £35m signing

Italian outlet CMW, via HITC, claim that Tottenham are trying everything to tempt Antonio Conte into signing a new deal by targeting Juventus ace Manuel Locatelli in the market. A player that has long been linked with a move to north London rivals Arsenal. The report suggests he could be available for around £35million.

Lloris' honest verdict

Hugo Lloris believes Tottenham struggle when it comes to their play in the final third away from home against the Premier League's best. Salvaging a point at Chelsea in August when far from convincing in west London, Spurs were deservedly beaten at the start of the month in the North London Derby at Arsenal.

Spurs told they're being 'bullied'

Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has delivered a damning verdict of Spurs, suggesting that they're frequently 'battered' by teams around them. He also believes that Antonio Conte's tactics are holding the team back.

"Spurs, for me, are flat-track bullies," Agbonlahor told talkSPORT. "They got battered by Chelsea and nicked a point, they got battered by Arsenal, and they got battered by Manchester United last night. In their next three games, they've got Liverpool and Newcastle. This will show what Spurs are about these two games.

"It's okay beating the teams that Spurs are meant to beat, but they play anyone decent, and they get battered. "The formation restricts them so much. It's negative for me. It's okay when you're playing the weaker teams, and Son [Heung-min] and [Harry] Kane can bail Conte out. The tactics were so negative. I felt sorry for Son and Kane. They [always] need to rescue a goal for Conte."
