Tottenham news: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's future finalised as Steven Bergwijn to leave

Tottenham Hotspur have made a decision over Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's future following the arrival of former Birghton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.

The Mali international arrived at the club last week in a £25million deal, ramping up competition for places in Antonio Conte's midfield. Bissouma's arrival has cast doubt over Hojbjerg's future in north London, but Spurs have now made the decision to keep hold of the midfielder.

It comes as Ajax striker Sebastien Haller's pending move to Borussia Dortmund could lead to the Dutch club raising enough funds to sign Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn. And Christian Eriksen has a transfer agreement with Brentford boss Thomas Frank amid reported interest from Spurs.

Here are Mirror Football's latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines.

Hojbjerg decision made

Tottenham Hotspur do not intend to sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg despite bringing in Yves Bissouma this summer.

The Danish midfielder had been linked with a move away from north London following the arrival of Bissouma, but Spurs have no intention of selling. They want to keep hold of the midfielder ahead of their Champions League campaign next season, when Antonio Conte knows he will need strength in depth to challenge for silverware on multiple fronts.

Hojbjerg forms part of Conte's 'leadership group' alongside the likes of Kane and club captain Hugo Lloris, with Conte also said to admire the player's commitment after he played through injury last season.

Bergwijn to leave

Ajax may be set to push through the signing of Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn once Sebastien Haller signs for Borussia Dortmund.

The former West Ham striker has been lined up as BVB's replacement for Erling Haaland, who has just signed for Manchester City. And, according to football.london, that move could lead to 'Bergwijn's move to Ajax being given the green light'.

The 24-year-old has spoken of his desire to leave Spurs this summer and could now be close to sealing his exit.

Eriksen's transfer agreement

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen has a transfer agreement with Brentford, Bees boss Thomas Frank has revealed.

The Denmark international joined the Premier League outfit on a six-month deal in January, marking his return to professional football following his release by Inter Milan after his horror heart attack at Euro 2020. Eriksen helped lead Brentford to safety, and his fine form has now led to reports that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are interested insigning him this summer.

And Brentford boss Frank has revealed he has an agreement with Eriksen that the player will "call me and tell me what he wants to do". And he's hinted the midfielder could make a decision on his future in the next two weeks.
