Tottenham news: Penalty taker in Kane and Son's absence, VAR referee dropped, Barca teen linked

Tottenham will be preparing for the weekend's huge Premier League clash against Wolves.

Jose Mourinho's side will be keen to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at the weekend, after goals from Olivier Giroud and Marcos Alonso sealed all three points for Frank Lampard's team.

Spurs pulled one back through a late own goal from Antonio Rudiger, who saw Erik Lamela's pass deflect off him and past Willy Caballero, but the Blues held on for the win.

With Sunday's visitors Wolves only one point behind Spurs in the table, the game in north London is more important than ever for Mourinho and his players.

Cucurella linked with Tottenham

While the transfer window may not be open for a few months, there is still work going on behind the scenes to make sure that clubs are prepared for the upcoming summer window.

One on the latest names to be linked with Spurs is Spanish youngster Marc Cucurella, with Cadena Cope (via  SportsWitness ) claiming that the two sides are two of a number of teams preparing to make a move for the player.

The referee was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons last weekend as he was the official who admitted to making a mistake during Chelsea's 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
