Tottenham news: Djed Spence 'waiting' for Spurs transfer as Christian Eriksen bid made

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Wednesday, June 15.

Spence latest

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on Spurs' pursuit of Middlesbrough wingback Djed Spence whilst also confirming that Yves Bissouma will indeed be the north Londoners' third summer signing following deals for Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic. “Bissouma will be the third signing of Tottenham’s summer and a really, really interesting one,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“They are showing their ambition to Antonio Conte, waiting for more signings to come. Let’s remind that Djed Spence from Middlesbrough is a serious possibility they are considering.

“But there’s still no official bid, so the player is waiting. He’s of course waiting for Tottenham as a big possibility to play Champions League football after a fantastic season with Nottingham Forest.”

Forster interview

New Tottenham signing Forster has spoken about how excited he is to play for Antonio Conte's side next season.

"I’ve plenty of experience, played a lot of European football when I was up at Celtic and, being one of the older ones, I can bring that experience with me, work hard, look to improve, and help the team and the squad. I’m sure it will be fairly straightforward for me from the moment I get in the door," the former Southampton 'keeper said.

He added: "Everyone speaks so highly about the group and how good a group it is, so I can’t wait to be part of that, getting the opportunity to work with a world-class manager, learning how and what he demands from his players...if you’ve got a full pre-season, you’ve got a lot of time to do that and then you’re able to hit the ground running."

United's Eriksen move

Manchester United have reportedly made an offer for former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Athletic have reported that the Red Devils have made an offer to sign the Danish playmaker. It currently remains to be seen whether or not the former Ajax star would opt to join Erik Ten Hag's side considering he would like to remain in London, as per football.london 's Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold.

Speaking about a potential move in a recent Q&A, Gold said: "As for Eriksen, it's all down to him really and whether he feels loyalty to Brentford for taking that chance on him or that the pull of Spurs, Conte and the Champions League is stronger. There will be other interested parties although I understand he would like to remain in London."
