Tottenham news: Antonio Conte talks top four as Carlos Tevez reunion on cards

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte was in a positive mood when speaking about his side's chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

Hat-trick hero Son Heung-min has revealed that he and his team-mates tried to ignore the early results but the joyous mood inside the stadium made it difficult. Manchester United and Arsenal were both defeated on Saturday and a win for Spurs would have strengthened their hold on fourth spot.

Harry Kane has been in tremendous form this season but could be giving a helping hand in the form of another striker.

Here are Mirror Football's latest Tottenham headlines.

Conte talks top four

Antonio Conte masterminded a win for Tottenham Hotspur against Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

A Son Heung-min hat-trick and a strike from Dejan Kulusevski proved to be the difference as Spurs left Villa Park with all three points to increase their lead in the race for the top four. Having witnessed the impressive performance, Conte thanked the fans for the role they played and also spoke positively about the chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.

"Seven games to go and we are showing that we are deserving to stay in the race for a place in the Champions League," Conte told BBC ’s Match of the Day.

"They are playing their game and we're playing ours so we don't want to focus on other teams because it's different," Son told BBC's Match of the Day.

Tevez and Conte reunion

Tottenham's attacking options are in a great place with Harry Kane leading the line.

But that hasn't stopped speculation linking Spurs to former Manchester United and City striker Carlos Tevez, who worked under Conte at Juventus. Tevez has been without a club since leaving Boca Juniors last summer and is looking to get back into the game with MLS side DC United also keen on securing the Argentinian's signature.

Tevez is expected to be in the stands for next week's tie against Brighton and Hove Albion.
