Tottenham new boy Tanguy Ndombele says he ‘could not have asked for more’ from ‘perfect’ debut

Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele says he could not have asked for more from his Premier League debut against Aston Villa this weekend.

The club-record signing marked his first appearance in a Spurs shirt with a goal as his new side came from a goal down to beat Villa 3-1 and get their campaign off to the perfect start.

The former Lyon man curled home from the edge of the box to make it 1-1 in the 73rd minute after John McGinn had given the visitors an early lead.

A late double from captain Harry Kane, his first goals at the new Tottenham Stadium, secured all three points, leaving Ndombele to reflect on a dream debut.

“It's a very good day for me because if I look backwards at where I've come from,” he told the club website. “To be here today making my Premier League debut is something special.

“To play in this amazing stadium with some great players and to have the opportunity to score my first goal, everything was perfect and we won the game.

“I couldn't ask for more than that, that's why I'm happy and now I hope we can have more success all together.”
