Member of Parliament for Tottenham, and Tottenham Hotspur fan, David Lammy is one of many Spurs supporters left reeling by their Champions League loss to Liverpool.
It took only two minutes for the Reds to go ahead in Madrid as Moussa Sissoko was judged to have handled the ball in his own penalty box.
Referee Damir Skomina pointed to the spot and Mohamed Salah duly dispatched his shot to make it 1-0.
Spurs battled with Liverpool for much of the game, but could not find the quality needed in the final third, and were beaten late on by a goal from super sub Divock Origi.
Lammy took to Twitter after the final whistle to give his reaction on Twitter.
"Ok that hurts," he tweeted. "More than words can express."
It is a message that will sum up the feelings of supporters in Madrid and in London as they watch Liverpool pick up their sixth title as champions of Europe.
For Tottenham, it was their first trip to a Champions League final - and given what Mauricio Pochettino has built in north London, it is unlikely to be their last.
