Tottenham morning headlines as Trippier hits out over exit and Levy urged to sell record signing

Here are the Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines on Monday, June 29.

Spurs urged to ditch Ndombele

Tanguy Ndombele only joined Tottenham last year but is reportedly looking to leave already. And talking to Football Insider, former Leeds United striker Noel Whelan has told Spurs that they should sell the midfielder.

“He’s done nothing since he came to Tottenham, quite frankly,” he said.

However, Daniel Levy wants Ndombele to remain with the club, according to Duncan Castles who was speaking on the Transfer Window podcast.

"My understanding is that [Ndombele] will remain at the club and basically Mourinho's been told this player is of importance to Tottenham and they're not prepared to take a loss on him," he said.

Trippier hits out at Tottenham

Former Spurs right-back Kieran Trippier spent four seasons with the club before moving to Atletico Madrid last summer.

He didn’t leave on good terms with Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino though, and has told the The Beautiful Game Podcast that they had offered him to other clubs, and gave him the cold shoulder ahead of his Tottenham exit.

He’d received an offer from Atletico Madrid and asked the manager about leaving.

“If I am part of your plans, then I will stay. He didn't give me a yes, and he didn't give me a no in his office,” Trippier said.

“So as a player you think oh right ok, no problem.”

Salzburg star heading to Spurs?

There will be numerous players linked with Tottenham over the coming months as Jose Mourinho will be looking to rebuild his squad during his first summer in charge.

The latest man rumoured to be moving to Spurs is Red Bull Salzburg’s Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. The 19-year-old has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season.

Italian journalist Alessandro Jacobone, via Football Fancast, has said that Tottenham and Milan are set to do battle over Szoboszlai’s signature.
