Tottenham morning headlines as Tanguy Ndombele transfer takes another twist, Celtic bid rejected

Here are the Tottenham Hotspur morning headlines for Friday, July 31.

Ndombele transfer latest

Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of selling Tanguy Ndombele this summer, football.london understands.

The 23-year-old has struggled following his big-money move to Spurs last summer, and has regularly been linked with a move away from the capital this summer.

The latest reports came from Italy and suggested the club have been in talks with Inter over a possible switch just 12 months into his deal.

However, football.london understands that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not looking to sell Ndombele this summer and that head coach Jose Mourinho believes the player can be a world class asset but just needs time to adapt to a new country after moving away from his family.

Vertonghen provides next destination hint

Jan Vertonghen is reportedly interested in continuing his career in the Premier League despite leaving Spurs at the end of the season.

The defender left the club after an eight-year spell having failed to gain game time under Mourinho in recent months.

According to Football Transfer Tavern, the Belgium international could stay in the English top-flight with several clubs reportedly interested in acquiring the 33-year-old’s services.

Despite failing to become a part of Mourinho’s long-term plans, the central defender presents an affordable option for clubs looking to reinforce defensively this summer.

Celtic loan bid rejected for Spurs youngster

Spurs have reportedly rejected a loan offer from Scottish champions Celtic for young striker Troy Parrott.

The 18-year-old has been linked with loan moves to several clubs in recent weeks and the Irish Independent reports he has rejected a move to Celtic in favour of joining Millwall.

Interest is also believed to have come from Preston North End, Swansea City and Bournemouth, but the striker is keen to test himself in the Championship with Millwall.

Fellow Spurs striker Harry Kane enjoyed a loan spell at the Den during the early days of his playing career, and that may have been a consideration for the striker when considering such a vital move into the senior game.
